Aventon Aventure 2 Review: The E-Bike for Unlimited Adventures!

Sometimes, you come across an e-bike that excels on bike paths and beyond. Fortunately, I believe I’ve discovered one that fits the bill.

Aventon Aventure 2

Hello, everyone!

This is Edwin from Gosondors.com, and today we have the privilege of reviewing the Aventon Aventure 2. Let’s dive right in!

Before we delve into the review, I want to commend Aventon for their commitment to sustainable packaging.

Sustainable Packaging: Aventon’s Eco-Friendly Approach

They have replaced the conventional plastic and foam materials typically found in bike boxes with eco-friendly alternatives such as cardboard and paper.

Even the zip ties have been replaced with paper rope, and the tape used is made of paper. Take a look at that accessory box—impressive, isn’t it? Alright, without further ado, let’s focus on the bike itself.

The Aventon Aventure 2 builds upon the foundational design of the original Aventon Aventure, establishing itself as an adventure bike capable of venturing into areas where ordinary roads fall short.

It empowers riders to explore diverse terrains based on their day-to-day whims. This latest iteration retains the beloved design from its predecessor while incorporating several significant upgrades.

Elevating the Riding Experience: The Impact of the Torque Sensor

The Impact of the Torque Sensor

The most notable and perhaps crucial improvement is the inclusion of a new torque sensor. If you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing a quality torque sensor before, let me explain its impact.

It transforms the pedal assist system from being slow and somewhat unresponsive, with distinct speed increments, into a highly refined system that instantly applies power when you press on the pedals.

Moreover, it responds to your pedaling force, allowing you to dictate the speed you desire. In essence, it elevates the pedaling experience to a whole new level.

However, if you primarily rely on throttle usage, you may not fully appreciate this feature. Nevertheless, once you try it, you’ll likely be inspired to pedal more frequently.

The torque sensor truly accentuates the bike’s finest qualities. For instance, reaching speeds of up to 28 miles per hour becomes even more exhilarating when it’s your own leg power propelling you there, thanks to the intuitive and responsive pedal assist.

Yet, the Aventon Aventure 2 isn’t solely defined by its torque sensor. It boasts a revamped screen display with color-coded pedal assist levels, providing enhanced visibility and usability.

Enhanced Visibility and Safety: Upgraded LED Lighting and Turn Signals

Upgraded LED Lighting and Turn Signals

Additionally, the bike incorporates new LED lighting at the rear, featuring highly effective turn signals. Positioned on either side of the bike, they are appropriately spaced to ensure clear interpretation by drivers as directional indicators.

I appreciate the automatic cancellation feature, which deactivates the turn signals after 15 blinks, preventing riders from unintentionally signaling their eventual left turn indefinitely.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the bike’s components. The Aventon Aventure 2 is a full-size fat tire bike, sporting impressive 26 by 4-inch tires that match their substantial appearance with equally impressive performance.

It’s worth noting that this bike carries some weight, tipping the scales at 77 pounds. However, it maintains a low center of gravity, especially with the down-tube battery configuration.

Powerful Performance and Range: Battery Capacity and Mileage Expectations

The bike is equipped with a 48-volt, 14-amp hour battery, boasting a capacity of 672 watt-hours. While not exceptionally large, it provides ample power for your rides.

I would have preferred a higher capacity for a fast e-bike like this, but you can still expect a reliable range of 50 to 60 miles on the lowest pedal assist level and around 30 miles on throttle-only mode, assuming you’re riding on good, flat roads.

However, if you take this bike off-road, especially at higher speeds, the battery may deplete even more quickly.

Speed and Responsibility: Unleashing the Class 3 Potential

Speaking of speed, this class 3 e-bike can reach a maximum of 28 miles per hour. It’s important to note that you should reserve such speeds for open roads rather than bike lanes unless you have ample space where you won’t disrupt slower cyclists.

Always ride responsibly when harnessing the power that high speeds provide.

However, if you’re like me and enjoy using the bike for its adventure capabilities, you may encounter a few other cyclists in the places it takes you.

There’s something truly fascinating about exploring new areas on a bike. I had never encountered this boat graveyard or whatever it was before, but it was an intriguing place to ride leisurely and discover.

Unbeatable Value: The Price of the Aventon Aventure 2

Now, let’s address the aspect you’re probably eager to learn about—the price. At just $1899, this bike offers exceptional value.

You’re getting features like hydraulic disc brakes, a responsive torque sensor for pedal assist, impressive LED lighting, suspension, a meticulously welded frame with the excellent build quality, a rear rack, and fenders—all included. The list goes on.

Admittedly, some components are more basic, such as the Shimano derailleur, but I can’t fault them for that because it’s more than sufficient for the regular riding that most of us engage in.

A Full-Featured Aventure E-Bike: Impressive Features and Exceptional Value

Overall, it’s a full-featured adventure-style fat tire e-bike. Aventon took an already great e-bike and made it even better. I even appreciate the yellow keys, which stand out and make them easier to find among a collection of keys.

You have plenty of options with frame sizes available in medium and large, as well as frame styles in step-over and step-through.

I must commend Aventon for their excellent work on Aventure 2. There’s no denying that it’s a substantial and heavy e-bike, but that’s expected in the realm of adventure bikes.

It’s well-crafted and performs admirably, earning two thumbs up from me.

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read our review of the Aventon Aventure 2. We hope you found it enjoyable and informative.
